Hany Malek -Stalwart of Computer Aided Design

CAD or Computer Aided Design has revolutionized computer technology that has evolved over the years and one of the stalwarts to exploit the nuances of this technology is none other than Hany Malek, who has mastered this subject. Currently on the rolls of the Department of Mathematics as a Professor, American University in Cairo, he was honored with a Bachelors Degree in the year 1970 in B.Sc Electronics and Communications Engineering.

Also, he has to his credit a degree of B.Sc in Mathematics, which he earned in the year 1972, having passed out from the Cairo University with both the degrees. A couple of years later in the year 1977, he earned his doctorate in CAD or Computer Aided Design while in Ontario, Canada, from Mc Master University in Hamilton. As far as this field of study is concerned, he emphasized mainly on subjects that dealt with Optimization techniques, Statistical variations, and Numerical methods. Most importantly, he delved deeper into CAD software programs.

He enlightens the innumerable individuals seeking out knowledge in this field through broadcasts as well as lectures that he delivers through various media like satellite channels that include RAI NETTUNO SAT1 and RAI NETTUNO SAT2. Here his extensive knowledge on linear algebra and numerical methods are discussed and highlighted.

His take on CAD- According to Hany Malek, Computer Aided Design technology and creativity is closely related. He believes that if an individual is well versed in the field of design and has a logical method of thinking; his productivity can be further enhanced with this designing computer technology software.

Aside from the above views, he also believes that Computer Aided Design is also of immense help to architects, drafters, and engineers engaged in stream other than mechanical engineering. However, its wide usage is found in the field of architecture and mechanical engineering. Not only that its usage has also been widespread in the fashion world, equipment industry, educational field, and steel furniture industry.

One of the greatest advantages of using this software is that the professionals engaged in the field of architecture and drafting will be able to switch between 2D views as well as 3D views with comparative ease.  In this way the designs can be improved upon, feels Hany Malek.

Other areas in which CAD has found wide application is in the field of product designing, particularly for the manufacturers and inventory designers that can make use of the software to redesign and better their designing concept according to the stalwart of CAD. He feels that the CAD industry has grown by leaps and bounds. And there has been no looking for this industry ever since it struck roots way back in the year 1960.
